7mate Male Orientated Channel
Channel 7 (prime) are set to launch a new channel called 7mate which is a male orientated channel set to launch on the 25th of September.
A quick video below shows some of the line up.
The first broadcast television channel to cater for men 16-49.
Some of the line up according to prime is the Family Guy, American dad, 30 rock, how I met your mother, That 70′s how, scrubs, Caprica, Stargate Atlantis, warehouse 13, fifth gear, the universe, life after people, the boneyard and many others including first run big movies for the blokes such as strangers and primeval.
Sounds quiet good to me.
Stargate Universe has been scraped in Australia
After only 3 airings of Stargate Universe Channel 10 has decided to can it.
I went to watch and record it on Monday night but then I looked at the EPG and The Siege was on in it’s place which I was not happy about.
The first thing that went through my mind was they have canned it.
My partner done some digging around and found that was the case, she also found that prime might be adding it to there new 7TWO on prime channel since they currently air Stargate Atlantis on Thursday nights (lets hope they keep it that way)

GO HD Channel Coming Soon
Looks like the HD scenery channels are now gone.
The TEN HD channel is now the ONE HD 24/7 Sports channel and the WIN HD channel is about to become the new GO channel and the PRIME HD channel just seems to be the same as the other 4 PRIME TV channels.

go-channel-image-1

go-channel-image-2
As you can see even though the Go channel isn’t online till the 8th of August MCE picks it up fine as well as ONE HD and a rescan wasn’t needed.

That was just a quick update.
So the 3 scenery channels or demo loops as most of use called them have been replaced with or will be replaced with the new channels etc.
One HD Channel Now Live In Canberra
Well the One HD channel has been live since the 2nd of July now here in Canberra.
I have left it for a while because I have been monitoring the new channel.
The EPG works perfectly on that channel and there has been quiet a mixture of items to watch.

As you can see in the image above the EPG works fine in Vista media center with the TV pack 2008 installed.

Horton hears a who
Horton hears a who is about an elephant that finds a tiny microscopic city which he is trying to protect from his friends who don’t believe what he has found. He has to get the microscopic city to a safe location before something bad happens.
Stars Jim Carrey as Horton, Steve Carrel as the mayor of Whoville, Carol Burnett does the voice of kangaroo and Will Arnett does the voice of vlad, plus many other stars.
The movie it self can get a little drawn out but it is a fun and colourful movie to watch, the animation is top notch and looks amazing on our 108cm plasma in 576i.

horton-hears-a-who

watch out for that needle
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
