There is no installation disk so you will have to make from the pre installed acer software - it gives you the option some were to do that. As for vista it runs quiet bad with only 512mb of ram but it can be easily replaced with 2x 1.0gig sodimms as I did and it now has 2.0gig of dual channel memory and now it fly's along. I have also installed the RC os vista SP1 and it has made things alot better and even more quicker. Am thinking of getting one myself, but it's between it and a similar specced/priced compaq laptop. Although I think this one has the newer graphics chip over the compaq with the older one.
