Acer Aspire 5315 XP Pro x64 Install
Well I have decided against using Windows Vista Home Basic on my laptop, bloated and used way to much ram and HDD space.
In this article I will go into installing Windows XP Pro x64 (64bit) version off windows onto the Acer Aspire 5315.
Below we have the 64bit drivers and a few acer items like eframe, epower etc.
Wireless Driver for x64, Atheros AR5007EG Wireless network Adapter. (click here for the file – 2.64mb)
Broadcom NetLink adaptor x64 ethernet driver. (click here for the file – 119.66kb)
Intel Chipset_Intel96x_v8.2.0.1014 x64 dirvers. (click here for the file – 1.85mb)
HDAUDIO Soft Data fax modem (Modem Conexant 955 v7.66.0.50) CXT. (click here for the file – 4.48mb)

ALPS Touch pad file, isn’t really needed but here is if you require it, (click here for the file – 8.39mb)
Acer Arcade v4.58N.4313 (coming soon)
Acer eFrame v2.3.4000 XP, install before installing the below 2 items, (click here for the file – 26.88mb)

Well I think that is it for now.

hi sir jason….
i was surprised that you have available needed drivers for my acer notebook..
for that,very much thank you.
I hope it will help me a lot because since i downgraded my O.S to XP some of the features of my laptop doesnt functioning upto now.
thanks a lot!!!
Thank you for the drivers!
The information provided is quite helpful.
This is just a test comment post to see if the comments are working…
I thought Intel was suppose to be quiet good with linux drivers?
I tried open SUSE and I had lots of problems with the wireless not working at all and the web camera and the dvb-t tv tuner unit and that is when I made the switch to windows xp pro x64.
Now I don’t have this laptop any more as I have given it to my partner, when the screen died a few months ago I sent to to Acer Australia and they fixed it within a week and they also reset it back to factory defaults so now my partner has this laptop and she users Vista on it with no problems.
was wondering if my laptop supported 64, this makes it sure for me, thanks for the drivers.
by the way ubuntu 9.04 sucks on acer 5315 the Graphics driver is black listed, so if your using Linux go use ubuntu 8.10 works much better after the updates. of 230 mb
Thank you for your help!

As newly registered user i only wanted to say hi to everyone else who uses this bbs ;-)
thank you for your site
Having Windows Xp x64 Pro instead of windows Vista made a huge difference to overall performance and I had at least 15GB of extra hard disk space if not more because the factory restore partition was also gone (make to to back it up to a DVD just incase you want to reinstall it)
My laptop went back to ACER a few weeks ago for a new LCD and I got it back and it was taken back to factory default and I haven’t put XP x64 back on there yet.
just wanting to know, does this realy improve the computer in all areas?
Glad I could help.
Thanks alot
