postheadericon Apple update a little incorrect

I run the apple auto update tool a few weeks ago and it found all these updates (21 all up) for my Vista system.

21-apple-updates

21-apple-updates

Seems a little odd to me that a Windows Vista system has those updates, Quicktime and Itunes maybe but not the rest off them.
This has happened to me a number of times so it seems that the auto update thinks I have an actual apple system.

postheadericon Funny Apple Ipad videos emerging

2 videos about the ipad that I found funny.

One of these would be nice but it a little limiting in what it can do and it nerds a lot more storage.

postheadericon Itunes 8 is out

Itunes 8 is out and has quiet a few new features which adds to the long list of things this software can allready do.

Read about the new features here.

Download it here. There is also a vista 64 version which only seems to come up if you are downloading itunes from a Vista 64 system.

I love itunes as I now have an 80GB ipod classic black unit which is one of the best personal electronic items I have ever purchased. Now if only I could afford a Mac Book Pro I would be the happiest man alive (well close to it)

Happy music listening all :)

postheadericon Today’s Web Browsers

I have lost count of the web browsers that I have installed but here are my top 5 (or so)

Firefox 3.0.1 (get it here) I love this browser because of its plugins, speed and security.

Internet Explorer 8, beta I know (get it here) this is not a finial release, far from it actually but it is nice to use, has many features and is 64bit which also causes problems for some java and flash items.

Google Chrome (get it here) I have only been using this browser for a short time and so far my experience has been good, a very quick browser.

Safari, for windows of course (get it here) A very smooth browser with a simple clean interface, very silver.

Flock (get it here) based on mozilla if I am not mistaken (get it here) this browser has lots of features, main ones that stand out are the flickr and youtube etc intergration.

Here is a quote from niallkennedy.com.

Modern computers feature multi-core multi-gigahertz CPUs, gigabytes of memory, megabits of bandwidth, and bulky hard drives. Our web browsers should separate browser tabs into their own processes, multi-thread all communications with the operating system, boost cache sizes, and not be afraid to command more bandwidth when available. Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.1, and Apple Safari are taking fresh approaches to web browsers for modern machines but Google Chrome has the advantage of a fresh start to achieve some features not currently possible in other browser architectures.

I found that very interesting and very true. I dont have a problem with the browser that I have installed and use, using lots of ram and hdd space etc, after all I dont have 4.0gb of system ram and a terrabyte of storage for nothing. Also what he says about google chrome at the end makes sense.

Speaking of browsers and the internet, here are some good sites to check out.

Here are some interesting Firefox items.

In the address bar type about:plugins for a list of plugins that are installed like flash etc (click for larger version)

Image has been removed as I no longer have a flickr account.

Type about:robots for some thing different (click for the larger version)

Image has been removed as I no longer have a flickr account.

Enjoy all..

postheadericon The working week is over

What a weird week it has been.
My laptop (Acer aspire 5315) went back to Acer on Thursday because it has a very weird screen, A massive 2 inch or so wide section of yellow pixels going from the top of the screen down to the bottom. very strange, cant wait to hear what they think of that problem.
I have switched back to Thunderbird now as I was having way to many issues with outlook, I know I had a few personal issues with Thunder a few posts ago but I have worked a few out and decided to look ahead of me and not look back.

I have been the proud owner of an ipod classic 80gb unit now and I have to say that it is one sweet unit, as is itunes.
I have found way to many free video podcasts in itunes which I am sure will keep me entertained during the many hours that I spend on a bus to and from work every week day.

ABC TV has a lot of its TV shows as free video pod casts in itunes now which is good to see.

I have ditched the forums now, also made a few updates to the site, going to update to the latest version of wordpress with in the next week, so I hope that will go well.

Until next time, happy surfing :)
